Summary:

Do you find yourself getting frustrated with life? Do you seek to have more peace in your day? Are your thoughts keeping you uptight too often? If so, then tune in to hear some great nuggets of wisdom in how to live at peace and enjoy a life of contentment.

Take an honest look at your blessings. Take inventory and look for the good.

Change your focus… even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Don't try to impress other people. Only live to please God.

Galatians 1:10 – "Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ."
Don't compare yourself to other people.
Seek to accomplish God's will.

My prayer is for God to take away my desires and replace them with His.
Don't live in the regret of what you haven't done yet or where you thought you would be.
Don't put off living in the now because you are waiting for something. There must be a balance of physical and mental activities. Don't cut out on life.

Example: I'll start painting again when the kids are grown.
Don't try to change other people especially your loved ones. Give them to God. After all, God knows them better.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Don't wish that your loved ones were something they are not.
Live in the present. Don't live in the past.

Failure is an event, not a person. Jesus paid too high of a price to have you walk around beating yourself up mentally!
Be a doer, not just a dreamer.

I want to be a doctor, but I'm 40 years old. It will take 10 years to get the degree and I'll be 50! So, let me ask this question.. how old will you be in ten years if you don't go back to school?
Don't shut out the world because they have let you down.
Go to God in prayer, giving Him full surrender of your spouse, your family, your desires, your attitudes, ambitions, and disappointments.
Forgive yourself
Forgive others
Live in God's truth instead of how you feel. His Word is never changing. Our feelings often deceive.
Don't expect royal treatment from your family. Our families keep us grounded.

Even the people in Jesus' town didn't believe that He was capable of doing the miracles and special things that He was created to do. How can we expect our families or extended families to believe in us?
Don't let others control your day.

Every day a man went into a soda shop to get a soda and crackers. Every day he told the man behind the counter to have a wonderful day. And every day the man behind the counter never smiled and never offered a kind word back. A friend asked the man why did he continue to be nice to the grouch? The man replied. "Why should I let him dictate to me how to act and respond?”
Ask God to give you a deep sense of knowing your worth to Him. Derive all of your fulfillment from God's view of you.

We often get our worth from external circumstances. For example, men often get their worth from their jobs and women often derive their worth from being mothers to their children. Continue to ask God to show you your worth in Him. You'll start to see it in the Bible as certain Scriptures jump out at you.
Focus on the fact that God has a perfect plan for your life, even when at the moment, it looks like nothing good is coming your way. Even when others seem to overlook you, your talents, and your friendship.

Jeremiah 29:11 – 13 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Rest in the comfort and joy that God is in control.
Practice at your gifts and prepare for the day of God's timing.
Don't sweat the small stuff!

Life goes on, even when things don't turn out perfectly the way we want them to.
