Is it okay to pray about your pet? Is it okay to pray about which car to buy, which job to take, which doctor to see, which clothes to wear?
Yes it is!
In fact, God desires for us to come to Him in prayer about everything! That includes the big and the small things in life. By communicating to God about everything, we develop a more intimate relationship with Him and further become more like Him. That is the goal. Here are some verses which help give you a peace in knowing that God does want to hear from you about everything!
Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Matthew 11:28 Jesus speaking - "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Jesus said come to me all you who are weary. He didn't say come to Him only when you are weary about big a catastrophe! He simply said come.
Last month our dog became very sick. We thought we were going to loose her.We prayed for her healing and then asked God to show us a freshness in His word about his concern for even our little pet. This verse below came to mind. It emphasizes that God created our little Muffin, that He loves her more than we do, and that even her days on earth are known and divinely appointed by God Almighty. Oh how He loves you and me!
Matthew 10:29-31 "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
God Hears us...
Psalm 18:6 "From His temple He heard my voice; my cry came before Him, into His ears."
Revelation 5:8 "...and they were holding golden bowls of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song"
